2011 was landmark year for Zynga Poker. While Zynga, the company behind the social poker brand, suffered from a dismal IPO, its actual gaming application has never been more popular. A recent report has shown that the company brought in more than $1 billion over the course of 2011, marking its place as one of the most popular online games, ever.

“Zynga set new records in the year in terms of revenue”, says CEO Mark Pincus. “We saw great momentum in mobile and advertising and ended the year with a strong pipeline of new games”.

Zynga has marked its place as the top free-casino games provider in the online gaming world. As such, the company is now considering looking into online gambling, exploring the options of partnering with real-cash operators.

Since the company has proven itself to be so profitable, Zynga wants to distance itself from Facebook, being less reliant on the social networking platform. So, Zynga is looking at more advertising opportunities and other gaming outlets through which of offer their services.
