Power Ball Jackpot Grows to $33 Million

Since there was no winner for the grand prize in the draw held on Saturday evening. The Power Ball jackpot continues to grow to an amazing $33 million.

In the draw that was held on Saturday evening, one lucky ticket matched all 5 white numbers with the Power Play and won a sum of $400,000 cash. Another two winners matched all 5 white numbers for $200,000. In addition, 430,296 tickets won a total of $3,530,534 in prizes.

The numbers drawn Saturday night were 2, 12, 20, 22, 50 and the Power ball was 17. The Power Play multiplier was 2. Other prizes that were awarded in the draw that was held on Saturday evening, that matched 4 white numbers plus the Power Ball won $10,000. An additional six tickets at the same prize level won extra $20,000 cash.

A total of 92,502 tickets multiplied their prizes by 2 in the draw held on Saturday. The winners were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With the Power Play option the player can multiply his Power Ball winning amount by 2 to 5 times. A total of $17,960,290 was spent by players purchasing Power Ball and Power Play tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.

In 2007 sale of Power Ball tickets reached $2.65 billion. The Power Ball was created in 1992 and is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
