The number of female online gamblers and poker players is constantly on the rise and PokerStars.com seems to see the growing trend as a good investment because they’ve agreed to become the official sponsor for the All Women’s High Heels Poker Tour (HHPT).

The HHPT was created in 2007 and is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The tour was created in order to give women poker players an outlet to become better, even pro and world-class poker players. The next event on the HHPT is the $125, no re-entry poker tournament which will take place in Dania, Florida at the Dania-Jai Alai at 4pm local time.

Founder of the HHPT, Lauren Failla said PokerStars.com has all the qualities that a female, online poker player would want. She also added that the HHPT offers great opportunities for female players to learn the ropes of the game, hone their skills and become expert players through the variety of low buy-in, sit-and-go cash games and tournaments available.

The HHPT has already crowned some impressive players including Vanessa Rousso, Vicky Coren and Katja Thater whom Failla says can players can look up to, emulate and challenge at the poker tables.

The sponsorship deal with PokerStars.com will see the leading poker site offer support for the ever increasing roster of tournaments which includes an event at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida and the grand finale, $1,000 buy-in ladies event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in January of 2010.
