The upcoming Asian Poker Tour (APT) in Macau is set to take place in the middle of August and will showcase some of the world’s best poker players. In anticipation, online poker room RedKings.com has announced they’ve secured sponsorship of two Singaporean players, Jason Samsonov and Jeffrey Tan.

The APT is set to begin on August 12th and run through till August 23rd at the Galaxy Star World Hotel and Casino and buy-ins for the event are set at $4,300. The APT is Asia’s biggest poker event and is owned and operated by AsianLogic. They have successfully run three events to date, two in the Philippines and another in Macau.

Jason Samsonov has been doing the poker rounds over the last two years and been fairly successful. The 22-year old has been honing his skills in both live and online tournaments and is excited to be the first Asian member of RedKings.com.

Tan is a 36-year old with several live events under his belt including the World Series of Poker 2008, Macau Cup 2008 and the APT 2008. He started playing poker at the age of 16 to help pay for tuition and now makes a good living playing in cash games all over the world. He has 16 years of live poker experience and is hoping to make a splash as a member of Team RedKings.

Marketing Manager Asia for RedKings.com Jani Kontturi said everyone is delighted to welcome the two new pros and that the sponsorships are a great way to expand promotion throughout Asia. RedKings, in honour of its two new players, will be hosting two online freerolls for $1,000. The tournaments are schedule for this Sunday and 9pm (London time) and on August 9th (same time).
