PokerStars.com, one of the world’s most popular online poker rooms, has just announced yet another record for the amount of players logged on at the same time.
PokerStars.com announced last week that their record of real-money players online at the same time hit 20,000, but that record was blown out of the water this week when the online gaming group saw 22,293 players logged on simultaneously.
On December 20, 2007, PokerStars.com also hit another overall record for Internet poker traffic when 150,000 visitors were on the site all at once.
A writer for PokerStars blog, Brad “Otis” Willis, wrote, “The playing frenzy was evident in the big Sunday tournaments at PokerStars.com.”
“The quarterly $1,050 buy-in Sunday Million drew more than 1,800 players to compete for a $1.8 million prize pool.”
This past February, PokerStars became the first online poker site to have 100,000 simultaneous players which landed the company in the Guinness Book of World Records.
PokerStars.com gives poker players the chance to play against real players from around the world.The online gaming site offers poker favourites such as Texas Hold’em, Omaha and Stud with real money limits ranging from $0.01/$0.02 to $100/$100.
