At the beginning of this year the world of online gambling was awaiting change. There was word that the bill from Barney Frank would pass and online gambling would be legislated in the US and Americans would once again be permitted to gamble online and play at online casinos as they desired. It is interesting that we are approaching the end 2009 and have yet to hear any certain word from the US government on this action or anything similar.
Is this bill completely off the tables? We don’t really know the answer to that question yet. What we do know is that it will likely be several years until we see any certain change- if any at all. This should imply that those companies that were thinking about entering the market should not make their business decisions on what may be later on but rather stick to what we currently know and only account for all the maybe’s that are out there.
There will be a bit of disappointed from the American online gamblers as many were looking forward to do so without hesitation. The online casinos were also looking forward to accepting a large market such as the US back into the scene. But it looks like everyone will have to wait. The question that will remain unanswered is just how long they will have to wait and it looks like no one really knows the answer to that part of the equation at this time!
