Online casino 888.com’s poker ambassador, Shane Warne, has confirmed he will be playing at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe.
Warne, an Australian cricketing legend, represents 888.com as a poker ambassador. He is also the Poker Team Captain. Warne had great success at the WSOP main event in Las Vegas this past July where he finished in the top 15% out of over 7000 players.
“I’m really looking forward to going to the WSOP in London and just hope I can play as well as I did in Vegas. I’m really enjoying my poker and the intensity of Vegas should hopefully stand me in great stead for London and the televised 888 Poker Open in November,” said Warne on the upcoming event.
The WSOP Europe will be taking place from September 19-October 2nd at the Empire Casino at Leicester Square, London with Warne’s first day event, the £10,000 Main Event scheduled for Saturday, September 27th at 1pm.
Gareth Edwards, Director for Poker Marketing for 888.com, said “Shane brings his fierce competitive nature from cricket to poker, so we expect him to put some points on the board very soon. Shane’s debut at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas was a great performance where he lasted well into day 3, so we know he has game!”
Don’t forget to keep up with Warne’s process as he will be keeping a regular diary of his progress and experiences as team captain for the 888.com poker team at www.shanewarne.com!
