Former dealer wins his second bracelet

Former dealer of Casino Arizona, David Warga emerged victorious in Event 27, winning his second bracelet and $208,682. This bracelet may be his second, but it’s the first he’s won in an open event. Warga expressed his excitement about Event 27, saying
“I had very low expectations of actually winning it. I was very happy just make it into the money. And then to make it to the final table, I was ecstatic.”

Making it to the final table was no small feat by any means, and playing against players David Levi, and Katrina Jett didn’t prevent Warga from coming out victorious. Levi finished in third with over half a million in tournament earnings, and Jett finished fourth again, the third time she’s done it at WSOP.

Warga’s first bracelet was earned in 2002 at The World Series of Poker Casino Employees event. The buy –in for this event is at $500, and allows those who work at casinos a chance to play. Warga defeated 272 casino employees who were competing and won $47,300 and his first title. It was a closed event, but Warga still got a bracelet, which was his first.

Warga won his second bracelet at Event 27, the $1,500 seven-card stud high-low split tournament. He is the only player in WSOP history to win the Casino Employees Championship and an open event.
