Lottery Game Innovations by Nova Scotia’s Karma Gaming to Go Live on OpenBet Platform

Karma Gaming, the innovator of crossword-style instant win lottery games announced the content distribution deal struck with OpenBet, the award-winning UK gaming software provider of leading betting, gaming and lottery operators worldwide.

The deal covers the integration of Karma’s lottery style, instant win games into OpenBet’s multi-channel platform, for distribution to new real money gambling markets worldwide, particularly in Europe. The Halifax-based game creator will also take advantage of OpenBet’s broad knowledge base support in creating fresh and exciting games.

In October 2014, Karma Gaming introduced a new genre for their next-generation lottery style games using its patented Crossword Hidden Object game play. Such games include titles like “Secrets of the Pyramids” and “Haunted Hotel,” which merge the concept of unraveling hidden letters in a puzzle, as players need those in solving a game of crossword in order to win real money rewards. Karma games are distinct from other arcade-style instant win games as they feature storylines developed and presented in multiple chapters representing different unlockable game levels that add to the excitement.

The OpenBet integration and distribution deal will enable Karma Gaming to bring those games to new markets for desktop and mobile gaming, which gamers can play in Flash format for PC-based gaming, and in native iOS and Android, as well as in HTML5 for mobile gaming. Karma Gaming CEO Paul LeBlanc expressed excitement in announcing the partnership with OpenBet, since they will be able to use the OpenBet platform in distributing their existing and future games and in attracting a global audience, especially those located in Europe.

According to Jay Aird, the Chief Innovation Officer (CIO) at Karma Gaming, his company is into reinventing existing instant -win games by combining the entertaining elements of casual games with the thrills of winning real money rewards. Mr. Aird explained that they analyze millions of play-for-fun game sessions and the real-money gambling sector, looking for new trends and the intersecting points on which they can design and develop fresh and innovative game products. Their goal is to bring out next-generation types of games that could outperform the conventional instant win games currently available in lottery markets, as a way of attracting a broader scope in terms of audience demographics.
