In 2006, Congress banned internet gambling, and it’s been fought against ever since. This has been a turbulent year for online gambling industry in the United States, with many states going through the motions of attempting to legalize online gambling state-wide, while facing criticism from those opposed. Since 2006, the Justice Department has also cracked down on many offshore operators, from shutting down sites, to seizing their domains, to even arresting executives. The most recent case of the U.S. Department of Justice cracking down on online gambling operators was Black Friday, though those sites got in trouble for a few reasons.
