Online gaming and betting operator, Unibet, has announced its partnership with England’s Liverpool Football Club.

The Swedish-listed and Malta-licensed firm will now become the football clubs exclusive betting partner for the next three years.

As part of the deal, Unibet will develop a Liverpool Football Club-branded gaming site that will be launched later in the year. The site will offer sports betting, poker, casino and other Unibet products for its players to enjoy. The company anticipates the new site offering a series of competitions with prizes including tickets, signed team shirts and stadium tours.

Liverpool Football Club is one of the most popular teams in England, with 18 league titles and five European championships. The club was bought by American investors Tom Hicks and George Gillette in 2006 before going on to finish third in the Barclay’s Premier League, which is England’s top soccer league.

Online casino site, Betsson, has announced an increase in net sales and operating profit for the second quarter of this year.

The company showed 147 percent increase in net sales from $9.1 million to $22.5 million with operating profit increasing to $6.82 million from a net loss during the same time last year.

President of Betsson, Pontus Lindwall, said the company launched its French-language site during the quarter and began a new dividend policy that will see up to 75 percent of the company’s income after taxes distributed to shareholders.

Lindwall also stated that marketing expenses for new customers have been reduced in favour of better offers to existing customers and product development with income after taxes for the remaining operations amounting to $12.3 million.

Betsson’s second quarter report showed that Turkish legislation against online gambling has made it difficult for Betsson to participate in that market with the gaming volume from Turkey declining from the end of the last quarter.
